一個貨櫃裝二位數的箱子，孩子拉控制桿決定一次吊幾個貨櫃上船：吊太多船會傾斜、要放回去少吊一點，這就是課本的「試商、調商」；商是兩位數時先吊十個一組，最後剩下不夠一個貨櫃的箱子就是餘數。

Each container holds a two-digit number of boxes. Children pull a lever to choose how many containers to lift onto the ship: lift too many and the ship tips, so they put some back, which is how estimating and adjusting the quotient works in long division. Two-digit answers start with sets of ten containers, and the boxes left that cannot fill a container are the remainder.
